Stoked for Kids Clothes Week

by Stacy on May 7, 2010

The second week of May was officially dubbed Kids Clothes Week by one of my very favorite Momma’s,Meg of Elsie Marley. I have been reading her blog for so long that it is the only blog I still receive via email. The other 100+ of you are filed away neatly in my reader. Luckily for me, Elsie being in my inbox means I rarely miss anything that she’s doing and when she told me about Kids Clothes Week, well let’s just say … she had me at Hello :)

The premise is SIMPLE. Spend 1 hour each night next week working on clothing for your kids. It can be any thing you want, any skill level, any pattern, any project. Just devote your undivided attention to it. Now normally, I probably wouldn’t be able to find an hour every night but next week my husband will be out of town and well I just happened to uncover my sewing machine in the garage this week so … GAME ON.

I will warn you in advance, I have NO sewing skills. I still have problems keeping the needle threaded between stitches and get frustrated every time I have to link the upper thread and bobbin thread together, but I’m a sappy old soul and have dreamed of making things for my children for years. So this is the week, I’m going to give it a go.

Here’s a list of projects I’m thinking of trying (who knows how many I will get to but hey, maybe you’ll see something you like):

15 Minute Pajama Pants (my kids are in desperate need of new pajamas)
Bandana Pants (this was one of my 1st posts and I still haven’t made them)
Simple Bandana Dress (I have a plethora of bandanas :) )
Ruffle Sleeve Top (Another oldie, but goodie)
One Hour Sundress (1 hr, need I say more??)

I chose projects I thought I could do even with my very limited skills, I’m hoping to complete all of them :) Wish me Luck

If your project was listed here, feel free to add the As Seen on KSW button to your site. You deserve it

Back To School Cool: The Younger Years

by Stacy on July 31, 2009

Back 2 School CoolBack 2 School Cool 2

Originally, I envisioned creating unique Back to School outfits for each grade (Preschool – 8th), but when I started searching the stores for some cute pieces to mix & match together, I came across these two adorable outfits from the Baby Gap. Voila, tonights work is done {just like that}. Sure, BabyGap is a little more $$$ than I would normally pay for my children’s school clothes BUT they’re having a 30% off Friends & Family sale now through 8/2. You’ll need a coupon in order to benefit from this sale so ask around (those that have them can use them again & again), then go grab some great deals. Stay tuned for more Back 2 School outfit ideas right here on Kids Stuff World.
