All out of words and short on time, but I just wanted you all to know that life is GOOD and I’m thinking of each of you! I couldn’t go another day without stopping in and saying Hi, so many things going on behind the scenes and I am itching to tell you all about them. Big things on the horizon folks, and I want you all to be a part of them!
Update: I realized I posted this photo of my lovely friend Amy from our girls day out and didn’t say a thing about it. She’s as pretty as a picture and as much as I would love to pass myself off as her, that’s not me up there. I’m standing behind the iPhone taking that shot while we talk crafts and mommyhood and plan our Etsy craft party
I invite you all to share similar moments from your week here with me, or on Instagram (I’m @steet) by using the hashtag: #liai (<- Life in an Instant) or even on my Facebook page. Whatever is easiest for you, however you can reach me. I’d love to see what moments are taking hold in your heart this week.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the way I spend my time and the importance of even just one hour. I eluded to it here, but this week I’ve really head a chance to focus on the important things. There is room for me to a better mother, a better wife, a far better homemaker — but to do those things, I need to be more intentional with my time. I feel most like myself when we’re doing simple things like making blueberry, and/or strawberry shortcakes (with a few ghirardelli chocolate chips!), perfecting shadow puppets, exhausting ourselves or watching the classics for family movie night. We’re crafting our summer the way we want it to be, the days are going fast but they sure are fun.
Are your summer days passing as quickly as mine?

A friend told me not too long ago, that we only really had some 6,500 odd days to spend with our children before they are off & grown, and on their own. Something about that number has buried itself deeply into my brain, probably for good now. That number frightens me. I am even more haunted knowing I only have 4,200 some odd days left with Happy. Really, where does the time go?
It makes you think. And stops me in my tracks. And makes me scoop them up even more throughout the day and shower them with love and kindness and trips to theme parks and ooey, gooey s’mores. And makes me want to create a million of these, or even these, filled with our happy Insta-memories.
this is our summer.
this is exactly the way I want us all to remember it.
4,199 more days exactly like this please.
……………

This week I attended a photography workshop presented by Dana & Todd of the White on Rice Couple. The workshop was sponsored by Invisalign and the theme of the day was, “Things That Make You Smile.” Get it? Dental Hygiene and Things That Make You Smile … great analogy.
At the end of the workshop, we had 15 minutes to capture something on our phones that made us smile, my pic under pressure — top left: the image of Little picking his nose. He hadn’t seen me for a few hours and just couldn’t wait to share his “latest discovery” with me, how could that not make me smile?
I won Runner-Up for this photo and while it was difficult to work under a time constraint and think outside the box, I realized my whole camera is filled with pictures of things that make me smile.
That’s kind of my thing.
That’s what this whole series is about, Life in an Instant is like my own little visual gratitude diary — a way of remembering the tender, often serendipitous moments of my days that just might be forgotten if not captured on film.
It has blossomed into something I really enjoy and I hope that you do too. Do you? I sure hope so.
