Valentines for the Kids

by Stacy on February 9, 2012

Valentines Day is just five days away, are you ready? Yeah, me neither …

Thank goodness I helped put together this beautiful Pinterest board with the superest Mom I know, Val of Frugal Family Fun. It’s chocked full of inspiration for DIY ideas that can be done on the cheap and almost at a moments notice … perfect for procrastinators like me.

Here’s a few projects I’m going to try and make happen around here

What a Mom Wants

by Stacy on April 29, 2010

This is it. The year, I have finally decided to accept all the bounty that is known as Mother’s Day. In past years, I’ve felt a bit unworthy, a bit too young, a bit as if it was still a day to celebrate my own Mother and not my new role as a Mom. I guess some might find it a bit strange that I had to have three children before I felt worthy of having my own special day, but for those of you who know me and how uncomfortable I feel about gifts in general you’ll know its just another one of my many quirks.

In honor of this special occasion (me accepting the fact I am a Mom), I put together this list of things I’m currently coveting … we’ll call it What this Mom wants. And No, I haven’t gone overboard – It’s just that I still like the element of surprise and not knowing what I’m going to get so I like to give plenty of options and let my husband do the choosing. :) ) Hopefully you’ll find something you might like to covet too.

Happy Almost Mother’s Day!!

{Rhinestone Flower & Bicycle Earrings- Urban Outfitters}

{Recolte Bleue – L’Occitane}
{Midnight Pomegranate – Bath & Body Works}

{Prima Classics – TOMS Shoes}

Why these shoes? Well, besides the fact that they are way retro cool and just my style there are few companies I love as much as TOMS. Not familiar with TOMS shoes? They’re the company that donates one pair of shoes for every pair purchased to people in need all across the globe. Read all about their One for One mission, then do yourself (and someone else) a favor and save $5 with their awesome Mother’s Day offer:

KSW Valentine's Gift Guide

Just some bright and cheery things I thought you might enjoy as you prepare for Valentine’s Day, you can see more of my KSW Valentine’s Gift Guide list and tons of other recommendations here. Also, I’ll be adding links and prices to the Gift Guide tab sometime tomorrow.

Just out of curiosity, do you buy your children gifts for Valentine’s Day or perhaps make them something special yourself? Do you dress them differently for the holiday or have another fun tradition you’d like to share?

We’ve been busy baking

by Stacy on December 23, 2009

Busy Little Baker

There’s been a lot of baking going on in our home this holiday season as we take a moment to show our friends and family how much we care by giving them something homemade & covered in chocolate. I’m so thankful my children have a generous nature and giving attitude as they bake each batch with love knowing they’ll be going elsewhere and not staying at home with us. {Except for the one bite they get from each batch ~ I’m no Scrooge you know}

Wrapping Presents the Kidmade Way

by Stacy on December 19, 2009

Kidmade Wrapping Paper

I’m thankful this time of year to have three Merry elves running around my home offering to help me in any way ~ whether it’s Decking My Halls or Ringing My Bells these guys have it covered.

That’s why this homemade wrapping paper activity was just the thing we needed to occupy busy hands on a blustery day. Armed with newspaper, brown paper sacks and some drawing paper we stuck dozens of stickers, stamped many stamps and then wrapped everything with loads of glittering ribbon.

Picture perfect, if I must say so myself, and since we had all the adornments in our craft supply we also did this for, well… FREE! What could be Merrier than that?
