I’m super impressed with the new addition to Family Fun‘s DIY Halloween costumes this year. These adroable beauties look like something you spent a ton of money on and they’re both easy enough for beginners that I feel confident even I could make them look great. My kids costumes are already planned this year, but I have a feeling that mermaid look will be making its way into play time in my house VERY SOON. {It’s made using cupcake liners!}

She’ll certainly put the “Treat” in Trick or Treat with this sugary sweet DIY costume. I’m so elated with the Food Network for coming up with this adorable costume and even more excited that they’ve decided to share the instructions with the rest of us. ~ Link to Cupcake Costume Tutorial

Recyclobot Costume

So it’s Wednesday you say and you still don’t have a solid plan for your child’s Halloween costume. Your just about to give in and run out and buy whatever is left on the racks you say. You’ve scoured the Kids Stuff World DIY Costumes but have come up short. Well, here’s a handy costume that works double duty. This one will please boys and girls alike AND does a bit of your recycling for you.

This costume was made using items you can find laying around your house and, as you can see, is just plain cute. Check out this high-tech candy meter that will let other parents know how much candy they should give your child.

Adorable Sock Monkey Costume

Sock Monkey Costume

There’s still enough time for you to make this adorable sock monkey costume for your child. All you need is a well fitting sleeper, a package of mens work socks, and some basic sewing skills. I found this tutorial on Instructables. Jessica, the mom who created this one, did a really awesome job putting her creativity to use.
