I’m not quite back in to blogging mode just yet … still soaking up the last moments of summer, but I do have a guest post up over at the Grass Stain Guru. I hope you’ll pop on over and check it out and while you’re there … tell Bethe I said Hi!! She rocks on so many levels

It’s called Sometimes you just have to get out & play and I really hope you like it. It’s an older memory of mine, but an absolute favorite moment of parenting. And to all the sweet commenters out there and folks who’ve asked questions while I was away, I hope to be back in the swing of things come Monday and you folks are on the top of my list!

Summer is in full swing, filled with all the things a summer should be: sunny days on the beach, homemade ice cream, babies in buckets, bare bottoms, picnics with the ones you love, creative water play, days at the park, lots of cuddles and a little silliness thrown in for good measure.
The perfect summer defined, the only problem is this summer is flying by way too fast! The kids are growing and times are changing, Happy will start an actual Kindergarten this fall and I find myself wishing I could just hit pause. Slow things down a bit and learn to appreciate the moments while I’m in them; something I am always striving towards. It works too, as long as you keep focusing and walking that tight rope. Take your mind off enjoying them for just a minute and they’ll slip away like sand through your fingers.
These photo are all snapshots of my Life as they happen, shared on Instagram. Join me there as steet for updates on your iPhone or stop by Kids Stuff World for a shot of us in action anytime, right there on the right side bar -> See us?. Instagram yourself? Let me know how to find YOU! I’d love to see what you’re up to this summer.

Last year, there they were all cherub like, dressed up in Daddy’s clothes singing Frances England songs refusing to sit or stand still long enough to be photographed.
Life seemed so much simpler then … all those 12 months ago.

Well boo, I had a video of Sweet singing to her daddy all sweetly but I can’t get the sound to work :/
This year, they’re all grown up, still not sitting or standing still but even more reluctant to be photographed. Lucky for me, I’ve learned some new mad iPhoneography skills. Father’s Day Photo Shoots in just a few seconds flat. Whatever did I do before I had an iPhone?

Happy Father’s Day baby! Sorry nothing quite turned out the way we planned, thank goodness we’re so good at rolling with the punches and adapting to whatever comes our way. We had a blast this weekend and sure are proud to call you Dad.

From now on, you can just call me ….
SUPER AWESOME NINJA MOM!!!
A certain handsome someone handed me this incredibly awesome crayola masterpiece when I came to pick him up from our gym’s play land this morning. The play structure has a direct view of the cardio classes and the kids like to watch Mommy working out some times … guess that’s what they did today because he told me. Look Mom, I drew a picture of you and your NINJA’S!!!! doing exercise. [Talk about a motivation to workout & be awesome!]
I think he’s been watching quite a few of these classes since he is super focused on exercising and yoga these days. He often asks me to demonstrate poses for him and loves to instruct his own classes with Sweet & Little as his students. Don’t worry, he always insists they use proper form and technique. He’s a real stickler that one, yesterday he gave us all a lesson on “Healthy Stretching” and even suggested I get up and do a few laps around the living room instead of checking out Facebook.
I love how interested he is in how his body works, what makes it healthy and how it can be even stronger and even faster if he keeps trying and pushing himself. Having a free personal trainer in the house doesn’t hurt either!
For those of you who know this Little Man, you’ll know he’s not always the happiest baby on the block. Maybe he is happy … who knows, but he sure has his father’s way of showing it. For the majority of the time, its all scowls and bashfulness for this guy but give him a box of cracker jacks, a funky yellow chair and a baseball and he’s as happy as can be. Who knew?

I snapped this photo during the I Heart Faces Dream Big workshop in San Antonio over the weekend. I am not a photographer, nor was I part of this amazing event. I’m just a mom with a camera and my kids just so happened to be the models for this shoot.
This image was taken during a break between photo sessions — he had just given several ladies a run for their money. NO smiles what so ever and not really wanting to be in any of the shots. He toddled over to his new favorite chair, climbed on up and had himself a snack. I saw an opportunity and took it, as fast as I could. You know toddlers, they don’t sit still for long.

I’m entering this one in to the I Heart Faces yellow photo challenge this week
More behind the scenes from the workshop
(cause I know you want to see)
