Giving the Gift of Pi

My friends from Pollinate Media and World Market gave me another challenge just in time for the holidays. They wanted to see what sort of gift ideas I could come up with that gave a nod back to all of the Life of Pi Indian and animal inspired products they have in stores right now.

You will never find me turning down a shopping trip, so off I went in search of the perfect gift.

Um, let’s start with a great gift for me! I would love to see the Life of Pi movie, everyone who has seen it has fallen in love with it and I want to be next. Hubby, if you are listening here’s an easy way to make your life happy. Also, Republic of Tea!!!! What?! I collect these gorgeous tins full of mommy juice, as my kids call it. I have at least 8 of these and Mango Black Tea is NOT one of them. Santa, this would be such a great stocking stuffer! Just saying …

As long as we are on the subject of stockings … check out these awesome stocking stuffers I found in the Life of Pi tent in the store. That pretty little box makes you feel like you are getting something so fancy and if it’s these adorable post earrings you really are! You would never know the giver spent less than $10 on this, shhhh … it will be our little secret.

A silver bangle – check, what girl doesn’t want a little more glam in her life and these are perfect for moms like me. Note to everyone: I will ALWAYS prefer jewelry that can be easily replaced. I think most moms would agree. And those adorable scrolls! There will be one of each of those in my children’s stockings this year. A loving letter from Mrs. Claus? or maybe just one from mom I tuck into their bed on Christmas Eve … I havent decided yet.

For my sister in law, a vegetarian who is about to move in to her first apartment. These silver mixing bowls are perfect and I am always trying to get her to eat new, adventurous dishes so this nan and Pav Bhaji make a perfect little housewarming gift basket!

I actually took it a step further making a whole Christmas gift basket out of this concept. This is what she’ll get from us under the tree

Everything a single girl could need in her first week in a new apartment! I used the sweet purple bath mat to wrap the basket in. Cute and practical, that’s what they call me!

I’d love to give one of these handcrafted eco-friendly journals to every girl I know. The perfect gift that doesn’t cost a lot but will mean so much to the giftee. The fact that it is eco-friendly and made in India also makes this a win in my book. I picked out 4 coordinating ones and asked Santa if he could bring them when he stops by for cookies in a few weeks.

Last but not least, I needed a sweet gift for my very first roommate. We don’t get to see each other very often, she lives in South Carolina, but our dad’s hang out at least once a week. They are best friends too. :)

When we were young she always had a thing for elephants, now that she has kids of her own I’m betting they like elephants too. These cute hooks and embroidered towel will make the perfect addition to their bright and fun home.

That’s it folks, that’s how you find something for everyone on you list at World Market. The crazy part is I could go on like this for days!! There are so many wonderful gifts there we didn’t even cover, really you must just go yourself and then let me know what you find.

If you ever need a personal shopper … this is me volunteering for the job!

  • I hope Santa brings you those earrings….you’d look adorable in them! I saw Life of Pi….it was good. A little scary for the younger ones, but an interesting story.

Thanks for the highlights. I love World Market. Lisa~
