We’ve been fortunate to have an extra set of hands around the house the last few weeks. Nana & Papa have generously helped us get all the areas of our lives in order and while I have loved all the household and crafting projects we’ve accomplished, the one on one time I have been able to spend with the kids has been the best part. (Ok, I may be foreshadowing a bit here – I’ve been on a date with Sweet, my date with Happy is today and well, Little don’t you worry we will squeeze in some fun time together soon too)
Sweet & I stole away a few precious hours on Monday. She had her first experience in the theater playing dress up and having a royal tea party.
I admit we’re not really in to the girly scene and when she dresses up, it’s usually as a Dragon Unicorn. Yes, she creates her own mystical creatures and I wholeheartedly encourage it. I was shocked she even dressed up in the gown, she has a conniption fit anytime the feel of lace touches her and even more shocking, she even let the instructor put a crown and jewels on her … but, it didn’t take long for her to revert back to her ways. She ended up trading her crown & jewels for a more Sweet-style puppy costume, then she got the instructor to don a big bad wolf hat. (bottom right photo) That’s my girl!
Quick shout out to the Stone Oak Youth Theater for the fun. You’ll be hearing more about them since I purchased a 10 pass for Happy & Sweet during a recent Living Social deal.
Of course, no date with Sweet is complete without some, ahem, “sweets” so we had to indulge ourselves a bit in a Monster Milkshake at Red Robin.
A trip to the Book Store, some girl time (i.e, shopping) and an impromptu photo shoot and we were back to the ‘hood for some fun in the cul-de-sac before dinner.
yep, an all around perfect day! Can’t wait to hang out with Happy today.
