Where I blog

by Stacy on August 31, 2010

I keep seeing all these posts floating around of these incredibly beautiful and homey spaces where people sit down each day to blog. They are all incredibly inspirational and I just love getting a peek in to the lives of my readers and friends. Still, at the same time I can’t help but laugh when I think about where I am sitting at the very moment I’m reading about all of these fabulous places. So without further ado … I bring you the answer to the question I know each of you are dying to know …

Where do I connect with of the rest of the world?”

Where I blog

I can pretty much guarantee none of you thought all of this fabulousness came from a toddlers papasan chair in my living room.

Yep, this is my little corner of the world. The place where I go to unwind after a long day and just you know, relax. (I hope you can sense the sarcasm here) I can’t really tell you how this all came to be. It just sort of became a habit.

The chair is small, it makes my bottom numb and there are metal braces poking up in the back that give me killer knots in my back. Still, I stick with it because the settee I bought for this specific purpose gives me back spasms so bad I can barely walk (getting old, I know) so I keep coming back to this … it’s been almost a year now (somebody please stop me!!) It started because my husband had the couch and my sister in law had the other seat in the house, but my husband is never home and my SIL has been gone for 3 months, yet here I still sit. I must look really ridiculous.

Maybe this post was exactly the push I needed to take action. I started scouring craigslist for something … anything …. and look what I found! Wish me luck it’s still available tomorrow.

Thanks Londen! How I only wished it was nearly as comfy or cute as it looked in the photo! Total craigslist nightmare and my children got to witness some domestic violence when we went to pick it up … uggh! Looks like the search for the perfect spot continues! You on the other hand … seem to have amazing luck! Your refinishing is awesome and oh how I wish I were closer to have snagged up your dresser missing a drawer. What a beauty. Thanks for stopping by!

Okay seriously I AM LAUGHING so hard right now!!! I was not expecting to see this. I mean yes your blog is fab and one would on imagine where you work would be too! You should see the real space that I call my blog spot!

Love this post! And get that chair!

I know, I know it really is embarrassing. I worked so hard today to liven up my spot. Jumped through all sort of hoops to get that chair and oh boy was it really not nice in person. I thought maybe I could steam clean it myself but when I got it home and opened my car the skirts were raised and the stains were so awful. No way I was letting it in the house with my babies. Plus, it wasn’t the fabric I thought it was going to be (coastal cottage) it was more … I don;t even know … fancy retirement home? It was satin & chenille or something – but in a really late 80′s atrocious sort of way. I just closed my trunk and drove it straight to the nearest donation center. No way was I going to let hubby win THAT ARGUMENT! I always have such awful luck with Craigslist :(

I have that chair !!!! It sits in my family room, and it’s soooo comfortable. It needs cleaned, so I never show it, but hey, it works for us. Thanks for linking up to the blog party, and keeping it real. I love this so much. :-)

How sweet of you to stop by and leave a comment! I am still in awe by all the entires in your party & what a fun bunch they were too! I visited a site run by a girl who was only 16 years old! And blogging fabulously I might add :) I can’t wait to see what the next generation of bloggers will dream up …
