“Easter is the demonstration of God
that life is essentially spiritual and timeless.”

Here’s hoping your Easter was as laid back and peaceful as ours. I really couldn’t have asked for a better day, the kids were fabulous, the day wasn’t rushed and the food was delicious. I’ll go to bed this evening thankful for this special day and all that it means to us.
If you’ve never made a resurrection roll, I HIGHLY suggest you do so right away. Not only were these a nice way to share the story of Easter with my young children and toddlers but they tasted like homemade cinnamon rolls – on the table in less than 20 minutes! (And the kids made them even)
My healthified version of the carrot cake was a smashing success (if I do say so myself), but my icing recipe could still use some work though – I’ve never seen cream cheese icing go so horribly awry. I’ll share the carrot cake recipe with you very soon (promise) and keep my yucky icing recipe all to myself.
{No Picture Here – It was a cake only a Mom could love}
The Egg Hunt was a blast, but my 4 year old was a bit underwhelmed that the Easter Bunny put raisins and cereal in his eggs instead of more candy. (He did get a chocolate Easter bunny and some M&Ms in a few of the eggs). I salvaged the Easter Bunny’s reputation by having the kids dump their cranberries, assorted cereals and M&M’s into a bowl and showing them the Easter bunny really left them Easter Trail Mix. * This made it much more fun for them and I felt as if I succeeded in not turning Easter in to a sugary, sweet holiday *
Originally, I planned to fill the eggs with puzzle pieces but our eggs were too small to hold the pieces. Next year, though – there will be puzzle pieces in our eggs
and Easter trail mix too (I love new traditions, especially ones you stumble on to by accident)

I love the beautiful colors in the mossiac! And those rolls look fabulous! I have to admit I am a dough eater… cookie dough, brownie dough, anything! And I am sure if I made these rolls I would eat way to much dough!
that’s a great idea, I’ve never heard of it either! (the trail mix)
The rolls don’t sound too hard either!
What a great idea! I never thought to put cereal or something like that in the Easter eggs. I went to the health food store and bought some healthier stuff but I still felt like it was too much junk food. I’m going to remember that tip for next year! Thanks!
Arian
Yay! I’m so glad you like the idea – my kids really enjoyed it once we started opening all the eggs and dumping them into a bowl to make the trail mix, they thought it was cool the Easter Bunny made them a snack for the whole week. Thank goodness for Blog Frog
That collage is STUNNING! I remember the one you did last year and this one is just as breathtaking! The RRolls were a huge hit at our place too… I love finding simple and sweet ways to incorpate God’s message into our lives.
:) xoxoxoxoxo!!!!
I never get tired of reading your comments
I hope you never stop leaving them, I’ve been drafting an email to you for days – should be ready soon … you know how that goes …
RRolls Rule!! and their even cooler with your nickname
It will be hard for me not to make them all year round – I don’t want the special-ness to wear off.
resurrection roll sounds intriguing. I have never heard of it. And I love cinnamon buns, but it’s way to much effort for me!! Happy Belated FMM!
Right Back at you Namine, I love making new friends (and resurrection rolls) I highly suggest you try them – even as a makeshift cinnamon bun. Yummo!!
I have never made resurrection rolls but they sound so good! Glad you had a fabulous Easter! I found you on my Blog Frog
HI Tammy, Blog Frog has been so much fun this week and I love that I am meeting new folks. I’m so glad you stopped by and I think you should make some resurrection rolls right away. I promise you’ll love them. (Just be sure to sprinkle the tops with all the left over cinnamon sugar (YUM!!)
It’s not a new tradition, but we all love cascarones on Easter…so much fun! BTW, did you take those photos in the collage above??? Stunning collage!

You’re right, it’s a shame Easter has become all about chocolate for kids. Great ideas, thanks.
I can’t say we started any new traditions, maybe hosting?
I’m happy that you had such a great Easter!
