It’s no secret most of us Moms have little to no time to dedicate to our personal appearance, and we typically fall into several mom uniform traps. Still, I like to think that a group of stylish women such as ourselves could collectively make great strides. In honor of this new thought, I am starting a KSW group on one of my all-time favorite sites, ShopStyle. This group will be a place for us to put together easy, yet stylish outfits and post for others to see and use as well. The best of these outfits will be featured right here on Kids Stuff World!

If you’ve never been to ShopStyle before, let me take a minute to tell you what it’s all about. ShopStyle is a social shopping site that links to all of your favorite stores. From one highly convient location you can peruse each stores inventory simultaneously – say you’re looking for a new sweater coat. No problem – simply enter sweater coat in the search bar and you’ll have access to literally thousands of coats. The best part is, you can narrow your search by size, price range, and even your favorite stores. When you find items you like, you can save them to your style book and create looks out of them to post on the site. Even better – you can set up sale alerts so you are notified whenever your favorite items go on sale! Finally, you can make a wishlist to hand out to folks who don’t quite no how to shop for you – clothing wise.

Sound like something you might be interested in? Great, head on over and create an account. Once you’re registered, be sure to join the Kids ~ Stuff ~ World Style group so you can start adding outfits right away. Remember, the outfits most suited to KSW style (easy, comfortable, and affordable) will be featured here on KSW.

TELL THE EPA YOU WANT CLEAN AIR!

by Stacy on November 25, 2008

Friday is the last day to voice your opinion on whether the EPA — the Environmental Protection Agency — should regulate carbon dioxide pollution, the primary cause of the climate crisis.

The EPA is taking public comment, before making a ruling.

Most people don’t know about this opportunity for public comment, so your voice can make a real difference. And with a new president in the White House, it’s likely that someone will actually be listening. To submit a ready-made public comment or to voice your own opinion, click here

Remember, the deadline is Friday, November 28th

Remember the Whimsical Sunrise Nursery?

by Stacy on November 23, 2008

Do you remember this post? This was our first Kids Room design project – featured back in August. At the time KSW didn’t have many readers, we were less than one month old, but now just a few months later we have a strong followership show we thought we would revitalize this room.

A Little History

On Aug 4th, we promised to design a unique, affordable nursery inspired by Urban Outfitter’s Spectrum Chandelier. After 10 days of hand-selecting each and every item, we presented you with…the Whimiscal Sunrise Nursery. This nursery was designed for everyday people with everyday problems. We developed a room that exudes color without ever needing a drop of paint. (perfect for our readers who live in apartments or houses they can’t paint) We also chose pieces that could be personally customized for our DIY readers. (Hint, try using the wall decals to decorate the toy box. Line the back of the dresser with scrapbooking paper for an even more individual look. Why not sew a few color fabric shapes onto the wardrobe to add that last pop of color.) And finally, we planned this room to really maximize its space. (Notice every piece of furniture is focused on stoarge- the crib has a drawer underneath, multiple colored shelves to hold stuffed toys above the toy box, a wardrobe, a bookcase and even a back of the door organizer.)

And now for the best part, we designed this room all for a budget under $1,000!! Can you believe it? Want to see how we spent the money?

As pictured clockwise from top:
